Nuclear power!!

I am a student who is applying to Japanese University. However, in history, there were some issues with nuclear power. The concerns of the radiation that may result if the nuclear power plants were to explode by the earthquake in Korea, got me back to thinking on the nuclear radiation that actually does exist in Japan at this moment. The nuclear power plants in Fukushima have exploded due to the earthquake few years ago. The radiation still hasn't disappeared and it has affected several crops and fishes to mutate or just simply contain high amounts of radiation.

I wondered, is it safe to eat imported food from Japan when there are still radiation existing from the last explosion? Then I also wondered, is it even safe to go to Japan for a trip, when there are radiation still existing? Last, I wondered whether the radiation has affected Korea as well.

I could look into the Internet for more information. Local newspaper may also help. Anyways, I learned that Japan may still be dangerous due to radiation existing around in the country.

Fresh water~~~~

In my environmental science class, we learned that the supply of water is very limited. Out of all the water that are present in Earth, 97% are salt water, and only 3% are fresh water. Even within 3% of the fresh water, only 1/3 of the fresh water are present for us to use, and the rest are present as glaciers and ice.

I had a question during class, why can't we have sea water converted as drinkable water as well? Is there a technology for it? Well as I searched the Internet, there is a technology called desalination, which is removing salt and minerals out of the water so that the water is usable for humans. Middle East, where water especially is scarce, utilizes this technology to create fresh water.

If there is such a great technology, then why don't we utilize it more? Well it is because there is some environmental concerns regarding this technology. It creates enormous amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, and also it kills all the marine organisms that are absorbed with the water as well. I wish we can find a much more environmentally friendly method to desalinate the salt water, because if we were to be able to do that, then there won't be worry for water in the future.

Sahara desert

In my environmental science class, we learned about many different biomes around the globe. Of all the biomes, there is one biome that is increasing every day. That biome is none other than the desert.

Especially around the Sahara region, the desertification is increasing its speed. This is due to overgrazing of the grass in the area. Most of the people living in the Saharan region or the region beneath it are mostly pastoral nomads, having their cattle graze the little grass that is left around the area. After grazing all the land, desertification begins, since nothing holds the soil that is left on the land. Erosion comes along with unstable soil. Slowly, the overgrazing process is creating more and more desert around the Sahara region.

Desertification must be stopped, as it is destroying the environment not just for humans but the fauna and flora that live or used to live there. I don't know many concrete solutions, but this is a problem that must be addressed at the soonest time.

After doing this blog, I could clearly understand the Sahara region which is one of the biome and desertification should be stopped.

Food chain is in danger.

In my environmental science class we learned about the food chain in class which recently made me think of something I learned previously by reading a book. It was about how, as the food chain in the aquatic ecosystem goes up, many metals accumulate in the consumers' bodies. Because we have been polluting water, metals that are unhealthy for us such as lead accumulates in the fishes' bodies. Those fishes are then consumed by a bigger fish, who receives all the unhealthy metals that were inside those fishes' bodies, making it worse for the bigger fish. The bigger fishes then are consumed by the seal, which means much more amount of unhealthy metals enter the seal's body.

The bigger problem is that, just like the seals, we too, consume those fishes. This means our health are also in danger. I wondered whether if I am constantly consuming these metals as well when I eat sashimi or smoked salmon or something. I also wondered what are the bad health effects I actually get when I consume these metals.

After righting this blog, it encouraged me to look further into this in next time, and write about it in this blog.

How do we get vegetables?

In my environmental science class we learned about development of the flower or plants. I remember learning in middle school that there are many vegetables, including broccoli created from artificially selecting a certain trait of the wild mustard.

According to this, the suppression of flower development led to broccoli, suppression of intermode length led to cabbages, enlargement of leaves led to kale, sterility of flowers led to cauliflower, and enhancement of lateral meristems led to kohlrabi. What I wondered was, how did they do this. I also wondered, how did they think of forming these kinds of weird vegetables from such a normal plant. Finally, I wondered how long did it take to turn wild mustard into these vegetables.

I might do further research about this in the future, as it made me curious how our everyday vegetables are mostly artificially selected. I could use the Internet once again, or find related books about this.

FIELD TRIP yay!

Today in my environmental science class, our class went to GomDan historical museum for our field trip. We went there by the bus. When we were getting there, we could see enormous scale of graves. After we reached there, we went to the historical museum right away. It was very interesting because we could learn more about Korean History as well as the techniques and tools that ancient people were capable to use.

I learned that hunter-gathers changed their society when they understand to use the fire and to build farm. It surely is interesting to me and I was very happy with the field trip. I wish we could go again.
After that we

Beavers are moving!

Today in my environmental science class, we learned about biome which contains tundra. What we have learned from the class is that tundra is cold place where there are only few living things can adapt the weather condition such as penguins, polar bears, and etc...So I was wondering why theses kind of animals are able to adapt from the climate. Therefore, I searched up internet to see what animals are living in the tundra.

Recently, I read an article about beavers are moving to the tundra zone. They are moving to Alaska's Northwestern. It is very astonishing fact because it is very cold place for beaver to make it as their house. Since it was not coming to me, I had to research about it. According to my research I have found out that beavers have feet that is capable to stand on the snow without freezing. Not only that, beavers have great sense of adaptation skills.  Therefore I learned that tundra is great place for beavers to adapt as their new home.

Tropical Rain forest

In my environment science, we learned about the forest. While we learning, I was wondering what kind of species are living in the tropical forest. So, I read an another article about the tropical forest. We all know that there are many species live in forests. I mean hundreds of species of animals and plants. Forests are there home because it provides them place to live and food. Unfortunately, this species are in danger due to humans' ruthless actions. Humans took over their lands and cut downed trees. In other words, they are
destroying those species habitat. This issue is becoming more sever as time passes.

According to the article, the researchers have found out a way to solve forest species from extinction. Since human took over their land, their number decreased due to lack of food and place to rest safely. However, they said that they have to restore forests in order to prevent decrease birds populations. They actually researched that populations of birds increased as they expanded forests.

What should we do to protect our environment.

Last week, I went to Hawaii to take my exam. I was really surprised with the environment that Hawaii had. It was beautiful, wonderful and fabulous. The sky was blue and the clouds were white and everything was perfect. It is unforgettable times staying in Hawaii. When I came back to Korea, I could not stop my face to be frown. The paradise in Hawaii was over and I had to face the dark blue sky and black clouds. So, here, I want to talk about what should we do to protect our environment.

Therefore, I found great information from my research what should we do to protect our environment.
1: We should pay attention to water.
2: Do not use your vehicle often.
3: Recycle
4.Save energy
5.Compost

By doing these steps, students can surely protect our environment. As our environmental science class covered up in the class that our earth is closed system, we should always keep in mind that we should protect our own planet.

Old-field Succession

Today in my environmental science class we learned about old-field succession. It occurs when farmland is abandoned. Old-field succession can be easily seen in climax community which is final and stable community. This is because old-field succession basically concludes to our mind that the long roots of the taller plants absorbs most of the water in the soil which makes pioneer plants to die from lack sunlight and water. Therefore I researched about this topic for me to have better understanding of tropical rain forest.

According to my research I have found out that good example of old-field succession is tropical rain forest. Imagine that you are in rain forest, you can clearly draw the huge tall trees around you. Trees in the tropical rain forest are most likely to be tall. Yes, it is because the taller trees absorbs the sunlight and also the roots suck up the water in the soil. Therefore the smaller one would likely to die.

By doing this research, I clearly understood the concept of old field succession which is basically a type of a secondary succession that occurs when farmland is abandoned.  Also when a farmer stops cultivating a field, grasses and weeds quickly grow and cover the abandoned land. After that the taller plants take advantages than smaller plants.

Hawaii - Primary or secondary succession?

Today in my environmental science class we learned about ecological succession. It was interesting to learn about ecological succession. Ecological succession is a gradual process of change and replacement of some or all the species in a community. Also, it can be classified as 2 type which is primary succession and secondary succession. Primary succession is the series of changes that occur in an area where no ecosystem previously existed. In other word, there were no soil but just rock and ash. However when time passes, the rock breaks and create soil and plants start to grow. However it would take a lot of time. On the other hand, secondary succession is when a community is partially or completely destroyed by a natural or a human- caused disaster, another community eventually takes its place. Secondary succession restores the ecosystem to be stable which can be maintained.

Understanding these concepts, I started to wonder if Hawaii should be classified as primary succession or secondary succession. Last week, I went to Hawaii and I was thought that Hawaii was formed after a volcanic eruption. After my research, I understood that Hawaii is classified as primary succession. This is due tot the fact that after a volcanic eruption, the surface of ground were covered by rock and ash. After that, lichens and moss which are called pioneer species appeared  at that place. Then grasses could grow where soils were created. Eventually, trees and shrubs were able to grow and now there is beautiful island like Hawaii. So, I can conclude that Hawaii is island where it can be classified as primary succession. By doing this blog, I could clearly understand the concept of ecological succession.

Are mushrooms like human or plants?

Today in my environmental science class, we learned about domains and kingdoms. Our teacher has taught us that there are 3 domains and 4 kingdoms. In 3 domains, there are eukarya, bacteria, and archaea. And in 4 kingdoms, they include kingdom of Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, and Protista. We have learned that mushrooms are known as kingdom of Fungi. Then I started to wonder what is fungi? and why does people believe that mushrooms are more likely to human than plants. So, I started to research about this topic.

First of all, students should understand the concept of kingdom of Fungi. According to dictionary, fungi are phototropic organisms, they obtain their nutrients by absorption. The cell wall of fungi are mostly made up of carbohydrate chitin, while the cell wall in plants is made of cellulose. Then why does people argue whether mushrooms are more to human or plants.  According to my research, I have found out that animals and fungi have both common ancestor which is single- celled organism that classify as sperm like cell which then later developed as a stronger cell wall. It clearly indicates that mushrooms are more like human rather than plants.

After having my research, I clearly understood what is fungi and why people believe that mushrooms are more likely to human than plants. Mushrooms is classified as fungi but if we have to compare them whether they are plant or animal, I can clearly say that mushrooms are more likely to be human like.

What is the biosphere? Is it safe?

Today in my environmental science class, we learned about the biosphere. According to my research, the biosphere is the narrow layer around Earth's surface in which life can exist. The biosphere is located near Earth's surface because most of the sunlight is available near the surface. So, biosphere is like a skin of Earth. After learning this concept in my environmental science class, I started to wonder if biosphere is same as ozone. I have misunderstood that ozone layer is biosphere, however, ozone layer is stratosphere.

Many people believe that ozone layer is biosphere because they are skin of the earth. The biosphere is located near Earth's surface because most of the sunlight is available near the surface. The consequence of organism in the biosphere dies, its body is broken down and the matter in its body becomes available to other organism. By learning this concept, I have fully understood the concept of biosphere and difference between ozone layer and biosphere.

Where is our fresh water?

Today in my environmental science class, we learned about fresh water that are in Earth. Most people believe that most of our fresh water is located in groundwater, however, our fresh water is located in icecaps and glaciers that are so large. I was wondering why is groundwater not fresh water. Therefore, I have researched about this topic so that I can understand why is groundwater not the freshest water.

According to my research, groundwater is rain and melting snow which sinked into the ground and most of it trickles down through the ground and collects as groundwater. Also, I have found out that groundwater accounts for less than 1 percent of all the water on Earth. Even though, people are able to drink the groundwater, there are more fresh water than groundwater. Most of the fresh water is locked up in icecaps and glaciers. The rest of Earth's fresh water is found in lakes, rivers, wetlands, the soil, rock layers below the surface, and in the atmosphere.

After doing this research, I concluded my idea that icecaps and glaciers have much fresher water. I felt happy because I learned that there are more fresh water than I thought. We can conclude that there are clean water.

What is the Acid Rain? Why does it occur?

Today in my environmental class, we learned about water cycle. Water cycle is the continuous movement of water into the air, onto land, and then back to water sources. During water cycle, there are three major processes of the water cycle which includes evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Evaporation is the process when liquid is heated by the solar energy and rises into the atmosphere as water vapor. In the process of condensation, that water vapor forms to  water droplets on dust particle
s which we commonly know as clouds. And last but not least, precipitation is the process when these droplets become large enough to fall from clouds as we commonly known as rain or snow. Then I started to wonder what is acid rain, how and why does it occur. So I started to research about them.

First of all, students should understand the term of acid rain. According to my research, acid rain is rainfall made sufficiently acidic by atmospheric pollution which causes our environment to be endanger. We can understand acid rain more easily by thinking that acid rain equals to bad rain. Then why does it occur? The main cause of the acid rain is because of people's activity that harm our environment. Just like our my previous blogs, the main reason for the acid rain is burning fossil fuels or coals, waste gases, producing carbon dioxide, and etc... that easily pollute our air. Yes, air pollution is the reason why the acid rain occur. To be more specific, gases that contain sulfur and nitrogen oxides are later form and turns out to be acidic. Then how does it occur? There are few ways that these pollution can be part of water cycle. The polluted gases can directly go to the process of condensation which go to cloud and become acidic rain. On the other hand, the pollution can mix with the water and which goes to the process of evaporation.

After researching, I have fully understand the acid rain and reason why it occurs. In order to stop that, people should stop polluting air. Otherwise, the rain that we must encounter could be hazardous to our life and could disturb our happy life.

Penguins die in 'catastrophic' Antarctic breeding season

I have read an article about Penguins which die in catastrophic Antarctic breeding season. In my environmental science class, we learned about climate changes and animal extinction. While I was reading recent news, this topic interested me and made me to write this journal. According the article, the penguins were in trouble because the season that they are encountering is bad season for them to survive. This is due to the fact that they don't have enough foods for them to survive, therefore, they have to travel to survive. In the article this phenomenon is also known as catastrophic. I believe that these phenomenon should be blamed to human activities. Such actions like global warming makes water level to rise and makes it hard for penguins to travel, since the ice are melting. Penguins are very rare species which only lives in polar side. People should care more to penguins and should really care about global warming. Penguins specially Adelie penguins should be preserved.

Dangerous Ozone Layer

Today in my environmental science class, we have learned about ozone layer. This topic is very exciting topic for me because it helps me understand about current issue about Earth. When I was in elementary school, I was interested to learn about ozone layer. This is due to the fact that, my friend from Australia once told me, how serious the ozone layer has been destroyed by then and how people are having issues such as skin cancer. My friend was really worried about the issue, therefore, I remember that I have researched about ozone layer back then. We have learned about concept of ozone layer in my environmental class. We concluded our idea "basic structure of ozone layer." However, I was wondering the reason why ozone layer keeps breaking and what is the consequence of ozone layer.

Ozone layer was and until now, is serious issue to our society. Many people where countries that ozone layer has been destroyed are having serious concern about ozone layer. Ozone layer is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Which means, ozone layer absorb most of the Sun's ray. If not, people would not be able to survive from the direct Sun's ray. However, sad news is that our ozone layer is starting to deplete and have a hole. This is due to the fact that global warming is continuously destroying the ozone layer with high carbon dioxide. Australia is having this situation and many people are worried about the this issue. To this end, many people are getting skin cancer.

Therefore, I learned that ozone layer is not safe enough to protect people from Earth. In this regard, I want to conclude that humans need to stop global warming instantly, so that people can live in healthy Earth.

Dalton's field trip

About month ago, our environmental science class went to "National Institute of Biological Resources" for our field trip. It was really exciting to go to field trip that is related to environment. When we were arrived there, it was really huge museum. First we went to a room where students can see creatures such as fishes, snakes, and etc... and students could do activities such as bird flying and stuff. It was not interesting until we went to other room where we could identify different types of species of animals and plants. There were good details that could easily identify them for students. I had learned a lot of good information about different types of species. After that, we went to another room where there were a lot of species that are identified as bones. There were animals, bacteria and also plants that were being described. Last but not least, we went to room where students can clearly learn about animal extinction. Even though, its quite while that I went to Museum, I still can remember how nice it was and how good information they are holding. After I went to museum, what we have covered from my environmental science class, makes sense to me and I could understand more better. By coming to here, I learned that how serious is animal extinction and how to identify animals in groups. Lastly, I could understand the importance of museum.

How to make great decision!

Had you ever had difficulties making better choice? In my case, yes indeed! For example, I had difficulties making myself great decision such as eating foods in convince store or in McDonald. Today in my environment class, we learned about scientific method. It is how scientist make decisions in scientific way. It was interesting to learn the concept of scientific method because it helps me understand how scientist make better choice and so that I can also use the following steps to help me find myself to choose better decision.

The procedures seems to be really simple but it takes time to create scientific method. First of all, students should ask a question which helps the purpose of the comparison. Then, students should research about the background of comparing substances. Next students should make hypothesis about whats going to happen and whats the benefit. Following step, students should experiment their hypothesis. Then students should create data and analyze the observations. Finally students can conclude the point and find out better choice for comparison and decide what to reject.

Therefore, I learned that making better choice is possible by using scientific method. I believe what I have learned today is very efficient and very useful. I can now have strong decision on when I have trouble making choices.

Earthquake BOOM

Today in my environmental class, we have learned about earthquakes.  This topic is very exciting topic for me because it helps me understand Earth better. I started to have interest in Earth and its structure since I was elementary school. We have learned the cause of Earthquakes. We concluded our idea "why earthquake happens" by understanding plate tectonic. However, I was wondering if not only caused by movment of platetetonic can Earthquake still occur? So, I started to research about my topic.

Earthquake has been considered as serious natural disaster for long period. Many people were injured or even died by earthquakes. Best example and still, Japan is having serious problem because of earthquakes; however, there are no solutions to stop earthquakes but to predict its incoming. According to my environmental class, I learned that crushing of plate tectonics makes earthquakes. Then, I started to wonder that if earthquake is occurred by getting damage, does it still consider as plate tectonics. According to my research, North Korea has tested nuclear bomb and that caused China to find out magnitude of 3.4 earthquake in North Korea. Therefore, I realized that not only plate tectonics. can cause earthquakes but also, damages can cause earth bomb test affects not only the upper part of the ground but also earthquakes. However, according to my another research, I have found out that such nuclear  underground which can affect plate tectonics.

Therefore, I learned that plate tectonics  can happen not only naturally but also by man made power. There are a lot of countries that are having trouble with earthquakes, so I believe countries that are creating earthquakes should really stop and understand the serious impact of earthquakes.

Where did animals go?

Today in my environmental class, we have learned about animal extinction. This topic is very interesting topic for me because I am very interested in animal extinction. We have learned the cause of animal extinction. We have concluded our lesson by human destroying their habitat, climate change and natural disasters. However, I was wondering why animals could not adapt to current society. This is because, I believe that animals have better skills of adaption than humans do.

Animals have been living in this planet way more than human do and some people claims that humans are also descendant of animals. I don't really care if humans are descendant of animals but it's hard for me to believe that animals are extincted. Even though, animals are losing their habitat because of humans, I believe that animals could adapt to this current habitat. This is due to the fact that there are polar bears or penguins that are capable to adapt from cold temperature. According to my research, there were no evidence that could support my claim. However, I have found that, it was the overload of carbon dioxide. Not only that I have found, I have found that food chains are damaged by human activities, such as killing the producers where pray requires them. Then, I started to have questions, why did dinosaurs extinct, when there were no humans. There were a lot of answers to questions and what I believe is that there are natural disasters that extinguish them.

Therefore, I believe that human destroying the animals habitat is not big deal, but human killing of producer is very big issue as it breaks the food chain. After learning animal extinction in my environmental class, it made me understand that people should aware of extinction of animals.

Risky Risky Risk

Today in my environmental science class, we learned about risk. In my definition, risk is something that people have to bet on. However, it was not definition that I knew in environmental class. Therefore, I researched about risk as a environmental term. According to my research, risk is "the probability of an unwanted outcome." To give an example, this chart shows the consequences of oil spills and people worries about spilling oil but according to the pie chart there are always "unwanted outcome" which is runoff from land. Not only that, I have founded that the most important risk that people consider is risk of death. I have found out that people are losing their focus of risk of death as a drastic situation by overestimating the problem. However, students should understand that there are risk of death that people underestimates, such as smoking cigarettes and drinking overload of alcohols.

On the other hand, I have found out that ordinary citizens and experts have different thoughts of "risk." Perceptions of risk by both of them have categorized as high risk and low risk. Experts believe that perception of high risk is global climate change and ozone depletion. Not only that, they believe that perception of low risk is oil spills and water pollution. However, ordinary citizen believed that perception of high risk is ozone depletion, oil spills, and etc..  Also, they believed that perception of low risk is global climate change and water pollution. It is very interesting to see that experts and ordinary citizens have opposite thoughts of risk. To conclude, understanding the concept of risk may vary. There are different types of risk and people have to understand the consequence of risk and do not underestimate the risk. Therefore, by writing this blog, I can clearly understand the concept of risk and understand what we have learned in my environmental class.

Resouce depletion?

Today in my environment class we learned about resources depletion because of "tragedy of common." Tragedy of common is when people share something but people tend to use more than others because they believe that if they don't use them, they will lose them. In order to stop that people should use them more efficiently by some people or some groups taking responsibility to take care of resources and use them separately. According to the article, non renewable resources are disappearing every single year with rapid rate.
People are losing their nonrenewable resources with rapid rate. I believe that this is a great example for "tragedy of common."  Just because that people tend to believe non renewable resources must be used by themselves, more people uses non renewable resources as they require. If this tragedy continues, this will be serious impact to our society. People will be not able to use non renewable resource when they need to and maybe people will not be able to develop no more and give serious problem to their habitat.
In order to stop that, there are substitution such as making electricity as their resources. According to research, there are other substantive resources to cover the resource depletion. However the problem is they will not be able to use them since they are not strong enough as resources such as fossil and etc... I believe that people should take more time on working on substitute resources which can be strong enough for people to live and use them without any problem.
In my opinion, I believe that people should care about environment issues and should participate on making non- renewable resources  to be limited. Therefore, people can use them equally, satisfy all people around the world and people can finally reduce the cause of tragedy of commons

How to Fill the Gap?

Today, in my environmental class, we learned about differences between developing countries and developed countries. In this world, there are two types of countries, developed and developing country. The developed countries has higher rate of usage in resources and the developing countries has lower rate of usage in resources. However ironically, the developed countries has lower population rate than the developing countries. This means that the gap between the rich and the poor countries are significantly thick. This is a major societal problem because if the rich use up all the resource and take all the human work from the developing country, the developing countries will soon be extinct due to loss of natural resource and overpopulation. The overpopulation and the loss of natural resource will cause extinction, because human gain food and supplies from the natural resources and if the resources doesn’t balance out the population of the country, which means if the population outgrow the number of the resource they need, they will began to die. If the dying continues, people will soon be extinct.
The developed country is also a major problem to this chaos, because the developed countries are mostly using up the resources from the developing country, and they are also using man-power from the developing country. These usage of the developed countries are obvious to them because they believe that they have enough money to support the country, however the money isn’t the thing that could fix this problem. The developed countries should start to think about sharing their amount full resources to the developing countries in order to balance out the gap between the rich and the poor, which would eventually end up with balancing the earth’s resource out and decreasing the human race extinction.

Is the sun renewable source?

Today,in Environmental class we have learned about renewable source and non-renewable source. I had a lot of questions so I decided to read my text book. While I was reading chapter 1 in Environmental Science text book, I was wondering why is the sun renewable source. I had been watching so many news or articles claiming that the sun is dying quite rapidly from elementary school and until now. I was not sure if sun is renewable source or nonrenewable source, so here I am writing 1 reason why it is considered as renewable source and 1 counter reason why it can be also called as nonrenewable source.

First of all, students should know the definition of renewable source. According to the dictionary, renewable source means natural resource which replenishes to overcome resource depletion caused by usage and consumption, either through biological reproduction or other naturally recurring processes in a finite amount of time in a human time scale. The sun is resource that human can use for long and long time. This is due to the fact that sun is sustainable until we, as our generation becomes non living thing. Therefore, "Is the sun renewable source or nonrenewable source?" is question that our future generation to consider, while our generation can use the solar energy without any worries.

On the other hand, the Sun can also be nonrenewable source because it is not the source that it replenish itself which goes against the definition of renewable source. According to the research, it claims that the sun will eventually extinct. This is due to the fact that the sun uses hydrogen to combine into helium which then can make heat; but, the sun has used up about approximately half of its hydrogen fuel. If the sun is out of hydrogen fuel, it will eventually extinct. We will never know about the future.

In my opinion, I think that the Sun can be renewable source and nonrenewable source. I personally think that Scientist should add more detail on definition of renewable source, saying that renewable source is source that people can rely on without any worries on their generation.

The planet's temperature is rising: Global Warming

Today we learnt about pollution in our environmental class and I learnt that weather is relevant with pollution. I feel like weather is getting worse every single year. During summer, I feel like it's getting hotter and during winter, I feel like it's getting shorter. According to the research, global warming is the main cause of this. Then why does it occur? How can people stop it? What will happen if this keep goes on? I had a lot of questions that popped out in my brain and I decided to write these questions' answers on my blog. I read an article which helps my answer.

First of all, according to an article, global warming causes mainly by carbon dioxide. This is due to the fact that carbon dioxide consume reflected heat from the surface of Earth, which means that the heat from Earth will not be able to move on to the space because carbon dioxide is consuming all the heat, that will heat the Earth. What can people do to stop making carbon dioxide?  According to an article, carbon dioxide is made when we burn fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas that is basically for electricity, vehicles, heat and etc.. Basically, it will be quite hard for people to stop global warming.

On the other hand, if the global warming keep continues, people will be in trouble by increase of sea level, extreme storms rise in some areas, more droughts and etc... which will ultimately cause extinction of living things. In order to stop that, people should stop making carbon dioxide. Therefore, scientist nowadays are making substitution that makes people to stop burning fossil fuels. I strongly believe that people should care more about how serious is global warming.
